Musical Theater and Acting Workshops

Did you know one of the highest-quality theater camps in Houston is held at St. Francis? SCENES, our summer musical theater program, is produced by Rick Keith in collaboration with CeCe Prudhomme, Yvonne Guidry, Patricia Salvo, Andrea Loer and Chelsea Lerner. (Read more about these talented theater educators below.) 

SCENES gives students an opportunity to work with professional coaches on basic, intermediate, and advanced levels of theatrical dance, singing, acting, and stage tech. Each camp is a fun yet intensive experience that culminates in a fully-costumed and fully-staged show.

  • Leg-Up Camp- July 5–7 from 9 am - 12 noon ($75); 12 noon - 3 pm ($75); or 9 am - 3 pm ($125)
    Dance and acting workshop - no performances (Ages 7 –16)
          Dance with Patricia from 9 am - 12 noon; Acting coaching with Cece from 12 noon - 3 pm; or take dance in the               morning AND acting in the afternoon
  • Broadway Review- July 10–14 from 9 am - 3:30 pm ($250)
    Features Broadway movie selections with Friday afternoon performance (Grades 2–12)
  • The Lion King- July 17–28 from 9 am - 3:30 pm SORRY! LION KING REGISTRATION CLOSED
    Hakuna Matata! No Worries with this fun, 2 week long musical with 2 performances on Thursday and Friday July 27 and July 28 (Grades K–12)
  • Disney Review- July 31–August 4 from 9 am - 3:30 pm ($250)
    Familiar Disney tunes mixed with story and dance with Friday afternoon performance (Grades K–9)
  • EACH of our camps offer extended daily stay both BEFORE each camp from 8 am - 9 am ($10/day) and AFTER each camp from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm ($10/day)

Directors & Coaches

CeCe Pruhomme - CeCe has been the drama teacher at Stratford High School for over 23 years. During her time at Stratford, she has been awarded the Tommy Tune Award for Best Director three times and Best Musical six times. In addition, CeCe has received the Texas Educator Association's Teach of the Year award.
 
Yvonne Guidry - Yvonee has been a producer and director of youth theater for the past 24 years. She is the co-founder of the Creative Actors' Theatrical Studio (CATS) and an early childhood educator.  Her accomplishments are highlighted by the dozens of productions she has directed and the success of hundreds of young performers. In addition to her productions with CATS, Yvonee has directored shows for many local schools and churches.
 
Patricia Salvo - Patricia is a national and international professional performer, teacher, and choreographer. Her New York and Los Angeles training has led to many performances locally in Theater Under the Stars (TUTS), Houston Grand Opera, and the Alley Theatre, as well as nationally in performances with the Cleveland Opera and national tours. Patricia has also been extensively involved in choreographing shows for many local schools and churches.
 

Andrea Loer - Andrea is the associate choir director at Langham Creek High School where she started VOCE, a select women's jazz choir. She has performed in choirs around the world and at the Southwest American Choral Directors Association Convention. In 2016, she had the honor of directing the LCHS A Cappella Choir at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention. 

Chelsea Lerner - Chelsea is a theater director and vocal lesson instructor at The Village School in Houston. She has recently music directed The Lion King jr., The Producers, and (currently) The Wizard of Oz at Stageworks Theater. She holds a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from HBU.  

Richard Keith - Rick is the Director of Music and Fine Arts at St. Francis Episcopal Church where he leads the Assisi Choir, the Bronze Handbell Choir, and the Fine Arts Strings. In addition to his church work, Rick has been involved in many musical productions around the Spring Branch-Memorial area including the recent productions of Memphis the Musical at Memorial High School and The Addams Family at Spring Woods High School.
